I’ll post more about this later but I just wanted to share the just-announced fact that Xero has added 1000 customers in the past 50 days. Bear in mind that their previous base was 3000 customers.
CEO Rod Drury said that;
• In the current climate, Xero software allows businesses to see and focus on their daily cashflow; We are well-positioned to be the global accounting system of choice
and
• In the New Zealand market the ‘word of mouth’ effect is happening.
for small business – that and our SaaS business model has now been
validated. We’re still a young company and we’re extremely excited
about the next phase of Xero as we beef up our sales and marketing.
I’ve been critical of Xero in the past but this time I give my unreserved congratulations – a 33% increase is a staggering achievement – well done guys.

What on earth are they feeding their marketing team – I need some! I guess the product is so good that it is selling itself.
