More Integration from those Charming Canucks

By Ben Kepes on February 17, 2009

I reviewed a little while ago IAC-EZ a start-up SaaS accounting offering that leverages the relatively huge and sophisticated FreshBooks customer base.

Hot on the heels of that integration comes news that Clarity Accounting, another Canadian SaaS accounting company, has finished it’s integration with FreshBooks also

To celebrate, those friendly FreshBooks people are offering Clarity Accounting customers a $20 discount off any FreshBooks package using the discount code “clarity”. Clarity works well for those of us who live in jurisdictions with complex tax rules.

FreshBooks has already integrated with Bootstrap, Xpenser, IAC-EZ and Clarity. It’ll be interesting to see if some of the European or Australasian accounting players integrate with them as well. Looking at the FreshBooks user statistics in the graph below it is obvious that they have significant users outside of North America, with a customer base of around 600000 users that’s an attractive bunch of people for the likes of Xero, KashFlow, Saasu, e-conomic and FreeAgent

The video below shows how the integration works – as always we’re keen to here you real world experience with this, and any other related product.

We’re happy to live in a jurisdiction with complex tax rules like you, Ben ; ) Hopefully Clarity helps some of those folks out.

We have many FreshBooks users that came on board and loving the multi-currency aspect of the integration. One happy FreshBooks user even took us out for afternoon tea :)

We first decided to pursue FreshBooks integration because because it was one of our top 3 feature requests from our users. Since there are a few other accounting applications that have already integrated with FreshBooks, we felt that it was important for us provide additional value with the Clarity Accounting – FreshBooks integration in terms of supporting complex tax structures and multi-currency support.
