how simple it was to use Google as an intelligence vehicle for sites
and people who did not properly secure their infrastructure. Over the
last month two of those videos were flagged by the community as
inappropriate with the end result that my YouTube account is locked
out, with no ability to do anything let alone take down any remaining
videos.
Social networking and self published videos can sometimes go very
wrong, and the current issues with my YouTube account are pointing out
serious flaws in how the system operates in light of being flagged with
inappropriate content on the YouTube service.
Many of the Google Hacking videos I did two years ago have seen
100,000’s of thousands of hits, the ones that I did about being tracked
using Bittorrent are years old and approaching some 300,000 views.
Enough that YouTube keeps on sending me emails to monetize them by
inserting ads as overlays. However, members of the YouTube community
decided that at least two of my videos are inappropriate for the web
site.

The sad and unfortunate outcome of this is that my account is
effectively locked out meaning I can’t do anything with the account,
let alone pull down videos in the series that someone else might find
violates something along the way. Effectively my YouTube account is
control seized by YouTube, I can’t do anything with it, I can’t delete
a video, let alone delete the account without ending up at a dead
screen with no interactivity to shut anything down.

Without the ability to delete videos, or do anything else with the
account, and the dire warning that they are planning on shutting the
account down if any more violations come through, which they will,
meaning the account that does have some cool stuff is going to be
effectively shut down. While there are many options available to me,
the inability to access my YouTube account in any meaningful way means
involuntary shutdown of those videos is a foregone conclusion. As soon
as I move them to someplace else like Vimeo I’ll repost the links. In
the mean time – anyone ever had their account locked out with YouTube
and did it cause any other problems with the many Google Services that
you have used?

Hi, this happened to Mr. Excel back in December but by January everything was restored. I guess it takes awhile for Google to investigate and resolve these issues. Hang in there and hopefully your videos will be backup in a few weeks. If you search Mr. Excel on YouTube you can find the videos about the account being taken down and restored.
Best wishes!

I would advise not to tweet the same blog post on differnt days as it is generally expected that they will be different blogs.
