    We have the same experience with Elephants…. They have a surfeit of resources so they are always thinking whether they should build or buy, with a strong preference for build. It’s easier to make a large organization career off a successful build strategy than a successful buy strategy, so outside software vendors are always swimming uphill. Your strategy sounds like a good way to blur the lines between build and buy.
