The key criteria for any SaaS provider to unlock the doors of enterprises is security and identity management is one of the focus areas of security. KnowledgeTree, cloud based document management solution provider, today addressed this key requirement by partnering with OneLogin to offer a Single Sign-On functionality. This will help them shift the focus from SMBs to enterprises.
KnowledgeTree, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, offers an easy way to share content within an organization in a more seamless fashion. Unlike some other providers in the space, KnowledgeTree offers desktop clients to Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. KnowledgeTree can be obtained either as a SaaS solution or as an on-premise server (running Windows or Linux). Their solution is very useful for anything from contact management to Employee onboarding to customer and partner onboarding. The fact that is is seamlessly integrated with Outlook and other Office Suites means that there will be less disruption in the organizations that implement KnowledgeTree Solutions. The most interesting feature of KnowledgeTree, in my point of view, is their workflows feature. It will save valuable time for organizations big and small.
With this partnership with OneLogin, KnowledgeTree is greatly simplifying the document management process by making it easy for users to automatically access the document without worrying about one more login credentials. Implementing some form of a Single-Sign on has become essential for SaaS providers and KnowledgeTree has clearly understood this need. By allowing users to easily login with Single Sign-On, KnowledgeTree made Cloud easy for business users. It makes use of OneLogin’s SAML toolkit to eliminate the need for passwords.
Well, this is not something groundbreaking but it is a much needed step for any serious SaaS provider. By partnering with OneLogin, KnowledgeTree has addressed the concerns of mid-market customers and making their offering even more secure. We will be seeing more and more SaaS providers taking similar route as they position themselves to face a booming SaaS market.
