3Di Enters into PaaS/SaaS Markets Using Cloud Computing
According to news, 3Di Inc. has announced its intention to use its newly-secured funding in order to enter PaaS and SaaS markets by providing a 3Di platform and applications as services through cloud computing. Cloud computing services would allow enterprises to deploy 3D virtual worlds without needing to invest in their own hosting hardware infrastructure.
Astoria Software has announced the release of Astoria On Demand by September 2009. Michael Rosinski, President and Chief Executive Officer of Astoria, said, "The September 2009 release establishes a new standard for high performance XML component management for enterprise software, and further cements Astoria On-Demand's position as the pre-eminent solution for managing XML content across the entire enterprise." Commenting on Astoria Software's upcoming presentation at CIDM's Best Practices 2009 conference, Mr. Rosinski added, "Astoria Software is extremely pleased to be a showcase presenter at the conference. This is in continuation with the pattern of of product updates every three to for months stretching back to the formal launch of Astoria On-Demand in April 2007.
Sage Announces CRM Cloud Computing Initiatives
Sage CRM Solutions which is a part of the Sage Group PLC announced that it is piloting a cloud computing edition of the Sage SalesLogix CRM suite for commercial availability in early 2010. "The next wave of Cloud Computing will benefit customers by providing a highly distributed and flexible deployment model that shifts control of the service to their favor, rather than SaaS vendors, so they can better tailor their CRM experience in a way that optimally suits their business."
