StepStone Software Sales Accelerate in Third Quarter - SaaS Model Wins Increasing Acceptance from Global Customers

StepStone has announced an increase in sales of its SaaS offerings in the third quarter of 2009. “As we grow our global footprint in the US, Asia and countries such as South Africa, combined with increasing business confidence and acceptance of our SaaS business model in all markets, we have seen a measurable acceleration of both new customers and additional business with existing users. This growth in Solutions, combined with signs of stabilisation we are seeing in our Online business, supports the view that we have turned the corner in our market." said StepStone CEO, Colin Tenwick.

Bell Canada offers SaaS server replication service

Bell, the Canadian telecom operators have announced that it is offering a server replication service that will enable mid-sized customers to ensure continuous availability of applications and data, even in the event of a critical systems failure or disaster. The Bell Server Replication service, provided on the SaaS model, features: data protection via real-time WAN replication of file servers and databases for Windows Servers, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft IIS, BlackBerry and Oracle.

Intuit Buys Mint.com

Mint.com, the online personal finances services provider has been acquired by Intuit.com for $170 million. Intuit is a famous provider of business and financial management solutions for SMB’s, financial institutions consumers and accounting professionals. Some of its flagship products include QuickBooks, Quicken and TurboTax. With this acquisition, Intuit will gain a fast-growing consumer brand and highly successful SaaS offering.
