Cloud email gets 'significant upgrade', boasts Mimecast

Mimecast Inc, a SaaS company that offers email archiving, continuity, security & policy control recently announced a significant upgrade to its flagship product Unified Email Management platform. The company boasts of improving its email archiving service, adding better security, regulatory compliance, 'ligitation hold' and e-discovery facilities, as well as linking it more closely to Microsoft Exchange. "The key thing is two components which is the cloud-based filing systems Stor5, which has been extended substantially to handle lots of folder types and lot more meta data structures. There have also been significant improvements to do with search and speed," said Peter Bauer, CEO Mimecast.

Teneros increases deployment by launching SaaS-based email recovery solutions.

Teneros, SaaS High Availability and Disaster Recovery Solutions provider recently reported 50 percent increase in mailbox deployment because of its new SaaS solutions. "The Teneros SaaS-based disaster recovery services provide cost-effective business insurance and continuity without adding expensive equipment, software or headcount." said Ben Petro, president and CEO for Teneros.

Cisco Loses WebEx Chief To Salesforce.

In recent news, Doug Dennerline, Cisco’s WebEx Chief has resigned from his current job and joined Salesforce.com as its executive vice president of sales for the Americas. "Doug's proven track record of sales leadership success and firsthand knowledge of the benefits of cloud computing will accelerate us in our pursuit to free businesses from the constraints of traditional software." said Frank van Veenendaal, president of worldwide sales and chief sales officer.

Rocket Matter Announces Product Integration with Skype.

Appirio aims new SaaS app at large services businesses.

Appirio, a company known for helping companies adopt cloud-based software, announced the launch of a SaaS application for large services providers that will go by the name of Appirio Professional Services Enterprise and is built on top of Force.com. “Using Force.com as an underlying platform gives Appirio a leg up on other PSA vendors, since it can focus solely on application features instead of the grunt work of assembling and maintaining a technology stack” said Ryan Nichols, vice president of product management and marketing.
