Compuware to acquire privately-held Gomez for $295m.

Compuware, the application performance management company has agreed to acquire privately-held web application management vendor Gomez for $295m. Addition of Gomez will strengthen Compuware’s position in the SaaS infrastructure management market as they’d allow users to test and measure web applications from the ‘outside-in’ across all users, browsers, devices and geographies. “For business and IT executives who are moving more business-critical applications onto the internet, Compuware can now offer unified visibility, isolation and resolution of application performance problems from the data centre to the customer,” said Bob Paul, president and chief operating officer of Compuware.

Websense Leads Web Security Market, Achieves Rapid Growth in SaaS Security.

In the recent report released by IDC, World leaders in research have named Websense the leader in the overall Web security market, which comprises software, appliance and SaaS Web security to protect against both inbound threats. "Websense continues to develop its core strength in discovering and classifying content across all its product offerings and provides its customers visibility and management over their information in a Web 2.0 world to control where users and data can go online." said Brian Burke, security program director, IDC.

According to the new study released by Access Markets International (AMI) Partners Inc, small and medium businesses in Indian sub-continent are likely to spend $48.4 Million on Unified Communications in 2009. "India SMBs are looking at UC as a low-cost tool to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers, as well as facilitate communication across multiple branch locations," says Sumeeta Misra, AMI's Bangalore-based Research Associate.
