Oracle Offers Procurement SaaS.

Oracle Systems, has announced the launch of Oracle Sourcing On Demand, a subscription-based SaaS for procuring goods and services. Sourcing on Demand integrates with its own ERP systems as well as competitors' systems, and is priced at $850 a month per user. "From an ERP standpoint, this is the first such offering to make its way to the marketplace. In terms of future plans, we're working with customers on which areas make sense for future SaaS modules,” said Nagaraj Srinivasan, VP of supply chain management at Oracle.

Microsoft Changes Controversial SaaS Billing Policies.

In recent changes made by Microsoft in its billing policies, it will allow channel partners that sell its suite of online business applications to directly bill their customers. This move was made to address one of the thorniest issues in Microsoft's budding SaaS strategy. "Soon all of our enterprise class software will be delivered as an option, available either in the cloud or on-premise," said Shannon Day, director of Microsoft's Software Plus Services.

SaaS co Spine gets backing from private investor.

Spine Integrated Systems Ltd. has raised 4 million from a private investor. The SaaS platform developer will use the proceeds to expand its server’s infrastructure and strengthen its marketing network.

Hosted Managed Attenda SaaS Platform Expands.

In a recent contract signed by BIW Technologies, it will take care of delivery and operational management of its SaaS project control applications for the architectural, engineering, construction and property sectors, with Attenda Limited. Google Docs security hole may have exposed private documents.

In shocking news, some Google Docs users received notifications in their Gmail inboxes stating that some of their cloud-based documents marked as private may have been sharable with other users anyway. This is a possible security flaw that Google team has identified and has accepted in an email sent to the affected users.

USA.NET to offer business email hosting suite.
