CEO Michael Dell of Dell Inc said that it used Salesforce.com’s SaaS technology to improve its business model at the Dreamforce conference. Dell also introduced its new products like E-Family commercial laptops featuring all day battery life and the M109S projector.

Orbit, a web based membership relationship management software was designed by Gladstone by adopting web based deployment models including hosting services and SaaS. It has been designed for health club managers. In a deal worth 750,000 GBP, Access Intelligence has agreed to acquire Solcara Ltd from fellow AIM Company ArgentVive. The move will be a welcome boost to Access’s own product offering and its efforts to focus on a software as a service (SaaS) approach.

Oracle puts 'social' in corporate CRM.

In a latest move by Oracle, the enterprise software giant has announced embedding social networking functions into its latest CRM offerings. This will allow the applications to emulate social network sites like Facebook, Friendster, LinkedIn. According to Prasad Rai, Oracle's senior CRM networking collaboration and mobility, there has been "a wave of innovations currently ongoing in the CRM space". One of these, he said, focuses on the transformation of "corporate" CRM applications to allow these applications to "mimic" social networking Web sites.

Maxplore is the Winner of the Force.com $1 Million Challenge.

Emergence Captial Partners and Salesforce.com have announced that Maxplore has been named the winner of the Force.com $1 Million Challenge. The former intents to invest $2 Million in Maxplore, subject to closure of the transaction. The Force.com $1 Million challenge is a venture competition for entrepreneur’s and companies building on the Force.com platform. “The Force.com platform allowed us to build and deliver a field service application suite much faster than is possible with client/server or other SaaS architectures,” said Sam Mukherjee, Co-Founder and CEO, Maxplore.

Nelson company integrates with Salesforce.

FuseIT from Nelson has built a product which will now be a part of Salesforce.com’s Force.com’s AppExchange. The company has claimed to be the first New Zealand Salesforce Consulting Partner to be accepted in the world wide program. “FuseIT bridged the technology void between legacy on-premise software and the latest web based services,” says Print Sf’s chief executive Mark Cira.
