In advance of the Enterprise 2.0 conference starting in a couple of weeks, I spoke to the general manager of the event, Steve Wylie today. It was an interesting chat (notwithstanding the Skype lack of quality from across the seas) – I really wanted to get a feel for whether the conference is attuned to what’s happening in the real world ie that yet more discussion of the concepts around Enterprise 2.0 are for another time – right now it’s all about short term ROI (for want of a better term).
I’m looking forward to hearing what people on the ground have to say about the willingness of enterprise to grasp this stuff – hopefully the wins are sufficiently obvious to make it a no brainer.
Please excuse the lack of catchy intro music, the quality loss and the slightly harrowed sound of the interviewer – I’m all about the sausage and not the sizzle (or was it the other way around?)
