Recently, I travelled to India to give a talk at Cloud Connect conference in Bangalore. The talk is based on the Intelligent Platforms model I have been advocating in this space. It is similar to what I spoke at the Pitney Bowes Data Day event with little modifications. I have embedded the slides below.
In the talk I highlighted how big data and large scale automation are going to change the world we live in and how the apps based on big data will be intelligent and self organizing. I then argued on the need for the current generation of PaaS platforms to evolve. After my talk few people asked me to describe the data driven world I am talking about. I did offer some thoughts on it at the event but I found an IBM video that accurately describes the kind of picture I am trying to paint. I thought I will add the video here so that it gives context to my model.
The world is going to change sooner than later and we are going to see rapid innovation accelerating the technological evolution at an exponential rate. It is time for organizations to understand the great computing convergence and keep it in mind while plotting their IT strategy in the coming years.
