Today is 20th birthday of World Wide Web, called affectionately as web by
most of us. In the past 20 years, the web has transformed quite a lot but I
think we should take time to check out the original
document by Dr. Tim Berners-Lee as a tribute on its 20th birthday. Thank you
Dr. Lee for giving us the World Wide Web. Web is the reason why we (Cloud
Avenue) exist in the first place and it is also the reason for the existence of
Cloud Computing in the form we know today. We are indebted to Web both as
evangelists of Cloud Computing and also as users.
I still remember the early days of web when I used to go from one site to
another using a text based “browser” called Lynx. Then came Netscape and changed
the way we look at web. Then the browser wars, dot com boom, web 2.0, etc..
Probably, after the wheel, Web is the one that shaped the human civilization and
helped leap forward.
As we celebrate the 20th birthday of Web, I would also like to hope that Dr.
Tim Berners-Lee’s second dream also comes true. I hope that his vision of
Semantic Web takes a solid grounding and by the time we celebrate the 30th
birthday of Web, we have a more intelligent web in place helping human society
even further. It is also my belief that the developments in the field of Cloud
Computing is going to help us take Semantic Web to the mainstream. Once
again,
Happy Birthday Web and Thank You
Thank you Dr.Lee for giving us world wide web.
Thanks for giving us so much valuable one and should make so many developments.
