The title is not a typo, I’m really comparing the Galaxy S to the Galaxy S. Join me. Here’s the version many of us have seen, and I held in my hands (salivating with desire, I might add) at the Google I/O Conference:
And here’s the Samsung Captivate, announced by At&T today, and heralded as AT&T’s brand for the Samsung Galaxy S.
Something does not compute ( and I don’t mean the phones, these babies are blazing fast). But either they are not both the Samsung Galaxy S, or this name refers to an entire family of devices, not just one specific model. The latter does not make too much sense to me: Samsung Galaxy can be a family name, without the “S”. Case in point: Samsung Galaxy Tab .
What gives? Does anyone have an explanation? Samsung, feel free to chime in. Oh, and please release this baby while I am still within the 30-day period of my HTC EVO 🙂

Anyone else notice they took off the front facing camera from the regular Galaxy S? That would be to much competition for Mr. Jobs.
Sure, you’re excited about the Samsung Galaxy S.
Now.
Stop.
And imagine 6 months after you bought the Galaxy. You’re angry. You been lied to. The promised updates never come. There are real problems just using the phone. Forums like this fill with users like you, angry, dumping the phone, and comparing how little they can get for it on craigslist. $150? If you’re lucky.
You’ll never buy a Samsung product again. Samsung has hired a PR firm to try to hide the real problems you and thousands of others are having with the phone.
This is real.
Do some research on the Samsung Behold II. This is Samsung’s business model.
1) Shiny new phone with promised updates
2) Wait… there’s no money in supporting a phone, only in selling new ones.
3) Refuse promised updates on under plainly false pretenses.
4) Go to step 1.
5) Profit.
Please, do not buy this or any other Samsung phone. HTC and Apple make nice phones that they support. Tell your friends.
I’m just a regular guy who fell for their lies. Don’t be me, 6 months from now, in a forum, writing this same message.
