I like your general rule about too many jobs before you’re 30, and that people should examine their motivations, and reasons for leaving. I think some people are late in finding something, never develop self awareness or the skills to negotiate or deal with something that bugs them. We’ve all left jobs for the wrong reasons I suspect. It’s also industry, job and person specific. I recently interviewed a major corporate HR director in the finance area who told me that she expects people to move every couple of years or so.
