One response to “Cloud … You’re Doing it Wrong!”

Almost fully agree. However, the IT departments give me a hard time. Even after you convince ‘the business’ of doing the right thing, it’s very hard to get IT engineers to be supportive. Most of them don’t get it and still call cloud a hype and refuse to look deeper into it. It’s not safe, it’s not secure, NSA is copying all your data, it’s not reliable, if you lose connection to the internet, you fail. You cannot move elephants, you need to store data close to your users, it’s more expensive, it’s a ghetto, I don’t want to lose by job, I want to be in control, et cetera…. And when an engineer is finally supportive he starts building things like he would do it on-premises in an traditional VM-minded way.
