Top 4: “Nobody Reads Blogs… Except Everybody Read Blogs”

Top 4: “Nobody Reads Blogs… Except Everybody Read Blogs”

By Adron Hall on November 9, 2014

I know I know, the marketers say it’s all about the single articles now. Nobody reads blogs. Nobody subscribes to blogs. Ya know, except of course for that small percentage of people that do. …marketing, it’ll make you insane if you’re not careful. But seriously, here’s a few blogs that are actually worth reading. They’re […]

Learning “nools” Rules Engine

Learning “nools” Rules Engine

By Adron Hall on September 23, 2014

Recently I sat down to work up a solution around a rules engine. There were a few things I noticed right off. When there is a request to implement or build a rules engine it is very often (I’m guessing a solid 40-60% of the time) reasoned that there is a need solely based on […]

Getting Started with Swift, For NON-Apple Devs

Getting Started with Swift, For NON-Apple Devs

By Adron Hall on June 26, 2014

This past weekend I attempted to get started with Swift coding. Since I have not been an Apple Developer for a while, it wasn’t immediately obvious how to get started. But once I fumbled around a few minutes I realized I needed a developer account to get the latest XCode. Jeez, it really shows how […]

Great New European Technology Invention

Great New European Technology Invention

By Adron Hall on May 22, 2014

One of the things that I’ve noticed throughout Europe is this really cool invention they’ve created here called a schedule. This schedule is something that is based on another piece of technology called a clock. The clock is designed to show the passing of time, something very similar to what we in America have, except […]

I’ve Officially Sent This Email Over 100 Times to Recruiters Looking for .NET Developers

By Adron Hall on April 17, 2014

Here’s the letter, it’s kind of LOLz! I know it’s tough to find .NET Developers (or replace .NET with Java Developers or X Enterprise Language), so CIOs, CTOs and others take note. Here’s what I know and what I see, embodied in a letter. I will put effort into hooking people up with good jobs, that […]

Breaking Up Again, OneNote and I Must Go Separate Ways

Breaking Up Again, OneNote and I Must Go Separate Ways

By Adron Hall on April 15, 2014

Ok, psychologically one is supposed to tell the good news last and the bad news first. Well, I’m doing that backwards with this article. First things first, all the awesome about Microsoft’s OneNote App. Microsoft OneNote The cool thing is, after more than a few years, OneNote runs on pretty much runs on most mobile and desktop […]

Docker Red Hat and Containerization Wreck Virtualization

Docker Red Hat and Containerization Wreck Virtualization

By Adron Hall on April 15, 2014

Conversation has popped up around a few tweets Alex Williams regarding virtualization at the Red Hat Summit. One of the starts to the conversation. How Project Atomic fits with Docker, geard, etc. http://t.co/qjFFGR2nI8— Alex Williams (@alexwilliams) April 15, 2014 Paraphrased the discussion has been shaped around asking, “Why is OS-level virtualization via containers (namely Docker) become such a massive hot topic?” […]

Write The Docs Bring Forth New Understanding From Documentarians @WriteTheDocs

Write The Docs Bring Forth New Understanding From Documentarians @WriteTheDocs

By Adron Hall on April 10, 2014

The Write The Docs Conference was started in 2013 as a simple idea. Bring together those that write professionally in technical fields, creating documentation, educational papers, scientific research or other ideas of this nature. Several people got together to organize this, thinking that even a moderate turn out of writers would be considered a success. However a […]

In-memory Orchestrate Local Development Database

In-memory Orchestrate Local Development Database

By Adron Hall on March 28, 2014

I was talking with Tory Adams @BEZEI2K about working with Orchestrate‘s Services. We’re totally sold on what they offer and are looking forward to a lot of the technology that is in the works. The day to day building against Orchestrate is super easy, and setting up collections for dev or test or whatever are so easy […]

Wintersmith Documentation

Wintersmith Documentation

By Adron Hall on February 19, 2014

I set out a few days ago to put together a documentation site. I had a few criteria for this site: A static site that I could push to Github to use with their github pages feature. The static site is generated from markdown. It just works. It’s easy to get it into a workflow […]

Going Live, Data & Pricing @ Orchestrate

By Adron Hall on February 4, 2014

Over the last few months while working on the prototype around Deconstructed I’ve been using the Orchestrate service offering exclusively. With their service around key value and graph store easily accessible via API it was a no brainer to get started building ASAP. Today, that service goes full beta! You can get the full lowdown […]

9 Ways To Survive The Shit Storm of Developer Evangelism

9 Ways To Survive The Shit Storm of Developer Evangelism

By Adron Hall on January 21, 2014

I started to write a blog entry a few months ago about my time doing developer evangelism. First in practice, along with product management and team leadership and then as a full time developer evangelist with Basho. Then I felt many different things, nothing which translated into a very useful blog entry. Well past any […]
